Why would you use an elementalist when the holy damage applied from a roj, a r/d ranger, or derv "snows" is far superior?

I'd see an ele with glyph of swiftness and roj while giving balths aura to one of the sins being of better use really.
In order to contribute in soosc you really need a source that converts your DPS into holy damage ( or bring a load of DoTAoE).
Don't get me wrong, nice if it works for you and in guild runs, but I cannot see this being on the same level as roj R/D or snow variants.

I've only been on 2 runs with eles, and while it worked, I can't say it would have been better than another ranger/roj or snow. I think perhaps E/Me with mimicry and SF would work okay in confunction with another monk, but still seems like there are better more common options.

Im all for pro ele as ele is my main, but this build, is, well not, bad, just quite inferior, as there are a lot better choices. As said you could Glyph of Swiftness RoJ, which leads way to you being able to bring Smite Condition/Prot Spirit for running. If you went E/Me you could GoS E Surge, which isnt great, but its better then Searing Flames. If you went E/Rt you could go Consume Soul or something similar with Spirit Rift and take a Weapon Of ..... to heal.
As long as you take survival skills and means of Moderate damage, any class can do SoOsc, although i dont feel this build provides enough damage to be viable, Searing flames is just pretty bad. I would probably sigh if i had to take someone with it.

Because there are times when I can't find RoJ or Rangers. And my damage isn't that bad aswell.

Well, yeah, this is intended to be a replacer, to have more variety, and maybe more people. Thanks for the tips!
